Described below are some of the events organized by Colors of Life utilizing the artwork produced for its annual international photo contest or otherwise to spotlight and create opportunities to support the activities of its partners and beneficiaries.

  • Art Exhibition to recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino American artists to the United States and celebrate their heritage and culture.

  • Capital One “Young Men, Big Dreams” Itinerant exhibition in various cities – February - October 2015 & Pepco Edison Place Gallery/ FotoDC – October-November 2014
  • To benefit Life Pieces To Masterpieces, a Washington DC non-profit organization providing education, after school programs and training to Afro-American boys age 3-25.

  • Organization of the American States “Investing in Women and Girls” – May-August 2014 & Capital One Richmond VA, MacLean VA, Plano TX – August-October 2013
  • To debate about the importance of empowering women and girls through better education and thus providing opportunities so that they can forge, together with their male counterparts, a fairer society.

  • The World Bank, Washington DC, “Investing in Women and Girls” – December 2012
  • Exhibited during the Law, Justice and Development (LJD) Week 2012 which explored the potentially transformative role of effective law and legal institutions in providing people, and most of all women, with more opportunities.

  • Itinerant Exhibition, Various US Cities – March/October, 2012
  • Itinerant exhibition of “Every Child Matters” finalist photos organized by Colors of Life and Every Child Matters Education Fund that will travel to multiple venues throughout the country to raise awareness and funds for Every Child Matters’ advocacy efforts during the US electoral campaign of 2012.

  • The World Bank, Washington DC – November 2011
  • “Children in Development: From Distress to Hope”, an exhibition co-sponsored by the World Bank Legal Vice-Presidency and the World Bank Art Program accompanying the Justice, Law and Development Week 2011 conference. Photographs of children in different countries of the world: from Bangladesh to Argentina, from Romania to India, from Cambodia to Guatemala.

  • Public Forum, The Edison Place Gallery, Washington, DC – November 12, 2011
  • “Children at Risk: U.S. and Multilateral Efforts and the Role of Art.” Participants: Michael Petit – Every Child Matters, Amalia Pizzardi – Colors of Life, Marco Nicoli – The World Bank and Tommy Wells – DC Councilmember.

  • “Children in Development: From Distress to Hope,” an exhibition co-sponsored by Every Child Matters and the World Bank.

  • “Every Child Matters” – Gala awards and recognition ceremony for the prize winners of the 2011 international photo contest and guests of honor Sen. Christopher Dodd and Dr. T. Berry Brazelton, in recognition for their lifelong work on behalf of children.

  • Residence of the Guatemalan Ambassador to the United States, Washington DC – November 2010
  • Gala reception, awards ceremony and silent auction and follow-up exhibition at the Embassy of Guatemala in Washington, DC, in support of the Neurological Institute of Guatemala providing assistance to underprivileged children with special learning needs.

  • Kkien Enterprise, Milan, Italy, 2009
  • in support of Pangea, an Italian non-profit, and its Jamila project in Kabul, Afghanistan, for the organization of a community micro–credit financing system for disadvantaged women and children.

  • Italian Cultural Institute – Italian Embassy – Washington, DC – Spring 2008
  • Gala awards ceremony reception at the Italian Embassy to highlight Colors of Life’s cultural and charitable activities.

  • Capital One Bank
  • Exhibitions of finalist photos from annual international photo contests in connection with corporate art display program.

  • Milan international art fair (MiArt) – Spring 2007
  • Participation in leading international art fair and follow-up exhibitions.

  • Jefferson Hotel, Richmond, VA – February 2007
  • Gala awards ceremony with silent and live auctions and concert, along with the participation of leading members of the community and scientific fields, to raise funds for the Transitional Care Unit of the Richmond Children’s Hospital.
